God loves the world. That''s plain to see as we read His Word. Today, God loves the world through us, His Children of Grace. Christ is ''in'' us and we are ''in'' Christ. Christ is loving people and reaching out to them through us. He is making His appeal through us. He is reconciling people to Himself through us.
The brown bag, of course, had its imperfections. While some kids carried roast beef sandwiches, others had peanut butter. I have no way of knowing if all of those brown bags contained ''nutritionally adequate diets.'' But I do know that those brown bags and those lunch pails symbolized parental love and responsibility.
As Plato sometimes speaks of the divine love, it arises not out of indigency, as created love does, but out of fullness and redundancy; it is an overflowing fountain, and that love which descends upon created being is a free efflux from the almighty source of love; and it is well pleasing to him that those creatures which he hath made should partake of it.
